Kaikoura peninsula-847Our thoughts are with the North Canterbury and Wellington Communities in the recent earthquakes and storms.  The spirit and support of the Kaikoura community and local iwi reminds us how resilient we truly are, putting others before ourselves and getting on with the job at hand.  To all the Volunteers, Defence Force, Civil Defence, Environment Canterbury, CDHB, Ngāi Tahu, Emergency Services, Helicopter Companies and Pilots what a wonderful job you are all doing.  The lessons learnt from the Canterbury earthquakes have certainly assisted with these recent events. 

There are many communities, companies and individuals rallying around to organize items from water to pet food to be sent into Kaikoura.  South Canterbury Facebook pages have been busy advising drop off points and items required.

Project PPSR - Update
PPSR Replacement Project (rPPSR ) as referred to by the Companies Office
This project is shaping up to be a major "highlight" of the 2017 calendar for finance companies and software developers alike.
RECAP
The current PPSR was released in 2002 and the accompanying G2B interface was world leading in that it was one of the first ever published API's.  The G2B interface and the entire PPSR is now over 15 years old and in need of replacement.  The NZ Companies Office have undertaken the major project of redevelopment with an aim to have the new PPSR ready for go live in 2017.
What does this mean for you?
In a nut shell the NEW PPSR G2B CAN NOT be supported on the finPOWER 5 platform, therefore if you are wanting to use the PPSR G2B interface you will need to upgrade to finPOWER Connect.
What are the team at HHA doing?
We have gone through all our finPOWER 5 PPSR users and made contact and either discussed converting them or started converting them over to finPOWER Connect.  This has been a great way to review templates, scripts alike and assist moving companies forward onto finPOWER Connect Workflows.  The team have been working some long hours to ensure our PPSR users are converted or booked in to be converted ready for 2017.  We will endevour to keep you up to date with our Project PPSR.

Lending Seminar 2016
In September Jayne attended the Lenders Seminar and found it very informative and enlightening around the current work the Commerce Commission is undertaking in this area.  The current and past cases which were discussed served as good examples and they highlighted particular areas that the Commission would be focusing on for the 2016/2017 year.  These included areas which the commission had received the most complaints from for example; Mobile Traders, High Cost Short Term Lending, debt enforcement and collection (repossession) and Online Lenders.

Whilst focusing on those particular areas they are also working 'proactively' to improve conduct and compliance in areas such as; Irresponsible lending, unreasonable fees, pressure lending and standing disclosure.

Our Transport Management Software (includes Web Freight Scheduler and FreightMan) is a licensed software which enables you the end user, permission to use the software in a licensed environment and access to maintenance and upgrades.  The HHA Software License Agreement carries an annual fee of which is calculated dependent on the modules you use.  This fee can be paid monthly with your software support agreement.

Postage Charges
It is becoming common practice for companies to charge a print or postage fee for statements from suppliers.  This is happening as the cost of printing and posting statements is escalating and postage times are extending.

If you wish to charge your customers for the printing and postage service contact us today and we can arrange for these fees to be charged monthly or as required to their accounts.

Welcome Diana
Since joining the HHA team Lorraine quickly became a valuable member of the team.  Her contribution to our Help Desk for our Accounting, Payroll and Freight Clients has been very much appreciated. Lorraine has decided to continue her journey away from HHA and explore other options.  

We wish her well for the future.
Robyn (Rob) joined the HHA team in August 2016 and spent her first month in our Geraldine office learning the ropes.  Rob is based in Dunedin and is a great asset to the team assisting our clients with all things emPOWER and Logistics with her extensive IT knowledge. 

Welcome to the team Rob.
Our newest member to the team is Diana based in our Christchurch office coordinating our Payroll department. Diana comes from an extensive payroll background working with a variety of industries.
